Plays
"Vieux Carre"
"Vieux Carre" was especially memorable to Brenda as Tennessee Williams himself was involved in the production. Sadly he died before opening night. Brenda remembers the cast was devastated. Working opposite Mike Nader ("Dynasty" and "All My Children") was truly a pleasure (pictured below). We had so much fun. The play, directed by Clyde Ventura, was a huge success. The reviews commented that Mike and Brenda had "great chemistry" together, comparing Brenda to Vivian Leighs performance in A Street Car Named Desire. Vivian Leigh is Brendas favorite actress of all time.
"Mr. Roberts"
Its hard to miss having this play be successful. The director was the now famous Jimmy Burrows (creator, director of Friends and Cheers). Brenda also worked opposite Gordon Jump (WKRP). She never forgot how kind he was to her. She was the only girl who was out of town for the play. He talked of his religion and said if she needed anything, hed be there for her. Everyone in the cast was a delight. Kevin ONeil, Ryan ONeils brother was also in the play. Ryan took Kevin and Brenda out to dinner. Brenda got a good review from Variety and Reporter.
"Send Me No Flowers"
Neither Frances Fisher (Titanic) nor Brenda were famous at the time. It was a fun play to do. They played opposite parts. Frances was the prim and proper housewife and Brenda was the fantasy woman of her husband, sort of a dream girl in his mind. Both Frances and Brenda studied with Lee Strasberg. Both Brenda and Frances pulled off opposite parts and blended beauitfully together.
